Stamp Storage

My lovely hubby recently put these up for me - converted from a wallpaper pasting table! I took the legs and hinges off and painted it to match the wall. Hubby then cut the shelves to size (they're just plain bits of thin wood from B&Q) then stuck them in with No More Nails at the heights I wanted to match my stamps, then hung them on the wall. Thanks to the ladies on the imag-e-nation forum for the idea :) The rest of my craft area (one end of our new dining room) is still a work in progress - once it's finished, I'll post a couple of pics.

It's lovely to have all my wood-mounted stamps visible like this - hopefully I'll use them all more, as I'd forgotten I had most of them! Trouble is I can't buy many more as I'll fill the shelves and I've promised myself that once they're full, that's it (well, for a little while at least LOL!!).

Wedding Card

This card was for my cousin Lisa's wedding yesterday and is also my entry for the Papertake Weekly Challenge following Katharina's fab sketch. I had a bit of a nightmare with this card and it just wouldn't come together until I discovered the rose-patterned white and silver vellum I've used behind the image. As a result, it got finished about 10 minutes before we got into the car to leave for the big day!! The main image is a rub-on, not something I usually use but one of the few wedding-themed images I had in my stash. I'm quite pleased with the results, and just hope the happy couple like it!

And here are the happy couple - the new Mr and Mrs Hannaby - along with a pic of my little munchkin looking very sweet in her pretty dress before it got covered in chocolate ice cream at the reception!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 27

My first card using my new Nestability circle die set, which I'm completely in love with! This is for the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week, which is "Cats and Dogs". I love this image of Fluffles (coloured with twinkling H2Os) and the sentiment that goes with it - I'm in complete agreement! The papers are DCWV Floral Stack and matching plain cardstack.

A couple of family birthday cards

wo family birthday cards that I've done in the last few days. September used to be a really quiet month in my family, but then everyone had children in September and I inherited a nan-in-law and suddenly it's my busiest birthday card month!!

This one is for Darren's nan. It's based on a sketch by Katharina and uses a large peel-off painted with twinkling H2Os. The patterned paper is from a DCVW floral stack and the plain card is Bazzill.

The second is for my nephew Lewis, who was six on Saturday. The decoupage sheet and matching paper are PaperNation. I took a risk that he'd like pirates - he's really into Power Rangers at the moment, but I didn't have anything suitable (unsurprisingly!!), but my brother assures me he loves pirates too, which is a relief!

Now I've just got Darren's nephew, who will be six or seven this week (need to check!!), followed by his niece and my step-niece later in the month, plus my cousin's wedding in two weeks! With teaching starting this week, I think I'm going to be busy - Christmas cards will just have to wait!
